Tuna fish...hummus???

So one of the reasons I decided to start writing in my blog again is because Nick and I decided to start a weight loss challenge of our own...similar to the challenge we did a couple years ago.  Basically the deal is:  If Nick gets to his goal weight and I don't, I have to pay him $500.  If I get to my goal weight and he doesn't, he pays me $500.  If we both get there...then no money is exchanged.  If we both don't get there, no money is exchanged and we both...well, suck :(  There are a couple other aspects to our arrangement.  One of them is for him to post in MyFitnessPal everyday where he can record his calories and stuff.  Since I don't count my calories because I eat Paleo-ish and try to keep it Zone, my part of the deal is to post in my blog instead of in MyFitnessPal.

I haven't gone grocery shopping yet, so today I was trying to concoct some sort of Zone meal with the things I currently have in my kitchen for breakfast this morning.  I didn't have a plan, so I just kind of winged it...grabbing one ingredient after the other...and I came up with what I like to call Tuna Fish Hummus.  There are no chickpeas in it...but I served it with pita bread, and it's kinda of mushy like hummus...so I'm calling it hummus!

Tuna Fish Hummus
Serves: 2
Zone blocks: 3 blocks per serving

Ingredients:
2oz can of tuna fish
3 hard boiled eggs, diced/mashed
1 tbsp mayonaise
1 tbsp of chili garlic sauce
1 tsp mustard
~18 banana peppers
~25-30 grape tomatoes, halved
2 pieces of Joseph's Flax, Oat Bran & Whole Wheat Pita Bread (only 8 carbs per piece...almost a perfect zone block)
2 individually packed Unsweetened Appleasauces

Instuctions:
Mix all ingredients together, excluding the pita bread and applesauce.  Toast the pita bread and slice into four pieces each.  Serve with the side of applesauce.

It was pretty yummy...I was pretty impressed with my concoction skills :)
Voila...
